Affiliate Program Terms of Service
The plain-language agreement between myMat and you, our affiliate partner.
Welcome. These terms explain how the myMat affiliate program works — how you earn by referring yoga teachers to myMat, when and how we pay you, and the few rules everyone needs to follow. We've written it in plain English on purpose. By joining the program or using your affiliate link, you agree to everything below.
Section 1The basics
The myMat affiliate program lets you earn a commission when people you refer sign up for and pay for myMat — the website builder for yoga teachers and instructors.
Here's the short version of how it works:
- You join the program and get a unique affiliate link.
- You share that link with your audience.
- When someone clicks it and becomes a paying customer, you earn a percentage of what they pay for their first 12 months.
- We pay you on a regular schedule.
Being an affiliate doesn't make you an employee, partner, or agent of myMat. You're an independent partner, and you can't sign contracts or make promises on our behalf.
Section 2Joining the program
To join, you'll need to apply and be approved. We may approve or decline any application at our discretion, and we may ask for more information before deciding.
To be eligible, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live).
- Provide accurate account and payment information, and keep it up to date.
- Have a website, social channel, newsletter, studio community, or other legitimate way to reach an audience — not spam.
- Follow these terms and all applicable laws.
Your account is yours alone. Keep your login details secure, and don't let anyone else use your account.
Section 3How you earn
You earn a commission on qualifying sales made through your affiliate link.
| Your commission rate | 30% of the amount a referred customer pays. |
|---|---|
| Recurring plans | You earn commission on every payment a referred customer makes during their first 12 months, starting from their first payment. Payments after that 12-month period don't earn further commission. |
| Cookie window | 90 days from the click. See section 8. |
| Qualifying sale | A new customer who clicks your link, signs up, and completes a paid purchase that isn't refunded, charged back, or cancelled. |
A few important details
- New customers only. Commissions apply to people who are new to myMat, not existing customers or people already in a free trial or sales conversation with us.
- Last click wins. If a customer clicks more than one affiliate's link, the most recent affiliate before purchase generally gets the credit — unless we tell you otherwise.
- Refunds and chargebacks. If a sale is refunded, reversed, or charged back, the related commission is cancelled. If we've already paid it, we may deduct it from a future payout.
- No self-referrals. You can't earn commission on your own purchases or accounts you control.
Section 4Getting paid
| How we pay | By Stripe, to the payout details on your affiliate account. |
|---|---|
| How often | Monthly, for commissions earned in the previous period. |
| Payment date | Around the 15th of each month, for the prior period's approved commissions. |
| Holding period | Commissions are held for 30 days after a sale before approval, so refunds and chargebacks can settle. |
| Minimum payout | We pay once your balance reaches $50 USD. Below that, your balance rolls over to the next month. |
You're responsible for giving us correct payment details. If a payment fails or bounces because your information is wrong or out of date, we'll try again on the next cycle. If we can't reach you, or a payment to you keeps failing, for 120 days, unclaimed balances may be forfeited where the law allows. A balance that's simply below the minimum payout isn't affected — it keeps rolling over.
Section 5Promoting us the right way
We love creative, honest promotion. To keep things fair and legal, please:
- Be honest. Only make claims about myMat that are true and that we've published or approved.
- Disclose your relationship. Tell your audience you may earn a commission. In many places this is legally required (for example, the FTC's rules in the U.S.). A simple line like "This post contains affiliate links" works.
- Use your own voice. Share genuine recommendations and real experiences from your own teaching.
- Respect people's inboxes and feeds. Follow anti-spam and advertising laws wherever your audience is.
Section 6Things you can't do
To protect our customers, our brand, and you, the following are not allowed:
- Bidding on our brand name or trademarks in paid search ads (for example "myMat", "mymat.yoga", or common misspellings), unless we give written permission.
- Using misleading, false, or clickbait claims, fake reviews, or fake scarcity.
- Spamming — unsolicited email, bulk messaging, comment spam, or posting your link where it isn't welcome.
- Offering unauthorised coupons, discounts, or cash-back that we haven't approved.
- Registering domains, social handles, or app names that include our brand in a confusing way.
- Promoting us on sites with illegal, hateful, adult, or otherwise objectionable content.
- Cookie stuffing, forced clicks, iframe tricks, bots, or any attempt to game the tracking system.
- Buying through your own link to earn commission on yourself.
If you break these rules, we may withhold commissions, remove them, and close your account.
Section 7Our brand and materials
We may give you banners, logos, images, and copy to use. These stay our property, and we're giving you a limited, non-exclusive permission to use them only to promote myMat under these terms.
Please use them as provided — don't alter our logo, imply we endorse things we haven't, or use our brand in a way that could confuse or mislead people. If you stop being an affiliate, please stop using our materials.
Section 8Tracking and cookies
Our affiliate program runs on Rewardful. When someone clicks your affiliate link, a cookie is placed in their browser so the sale can be credited to you. That cookie lasts 90 days.
A few honest caveats about tracking, which apply to every affiliate program:
- If a customer clears their cookies, uses a different device or browser, or blocks tracking, we may not be able to credit the sale.
- Rewardful's records are the official record of clicks, sales, and commissions.
- We do our best to track accurately, but we can't guarantee that every referral is captured.
Section 9Taxes
The commissions you earn are income, and you're responsible for any taxes on them. Depending on where you live, we may need to collect tax information from you (for example, a W-9 or W-8 form for U.S. affiliates) before we can pay you. Commissions are stated exclusive of any applicable taxes.
Section 10Ending the relationship
Either of us can leave the program at any time, for any reason, by giving notice. You can close your account whenever you like. We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms or if we simply decide to end the program.
If your account ends, or we end the program:
- You'll be paid any commissions you've properly earned and that aren't subject to a refund, chargeback, or investigation — as long as they're above the minimum payout.
- Customers you referred before your account ended keep earning you commission for the rest of their 12-month window, paid on the usual schedule. You don't lose the remainder of a tail just because you've left the program.
- If your account is closed because of fraud or a serious breach of these terms, you may forfeit unpaid commissions — including anything that would otherwise have come from those remaining 12-month windows.
- Please stop using your affiliate links and our brand materials. Referrals from a link used after your account ends don't earn commission.
Section 11The legal essentials
We've kept this short, but these parts matter:
- No guarantees of income. We don't promise any particular amount of sales or earnings. What you make depends on your own efforts.
- Provided as is. The program and our materials are provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we don't make warranties about them.
- Limited liability. To the extent the law allows, myMat isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the commissions we've paid you in the 12 months before the issue arose.
- You cover your own actions. If your promotion breaks the law or these terms and it causes us a loss or a claim, you agree to cover the reasonable costs (this is called indemnification).
- Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, and any disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Denver, Colorado.
- The whole agreement. These terms are the full agreement about the affiliate program. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
Section 12Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time — for example, if commission rates or payout methods change. When we do, we'll post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. If the changes are significant, we'll give you a heads-up by email. If you keep promoting us after a change takes effect, that means you accept the new terms.
