What we are building next now lives at /roadmap/ — Coming Soon, In Progress and Done, updated as things move. There are deliberately no dates on it.

A new chart icon in the editor's top bar shows where your visitors came from, in plain language — search engines, Instagram, Facebook, email, messages, direct or saved, and any other site that linked to you. No sessions, no bounce rate, no tutorial required.

There is nothing to set up and no cookie banner, because there are no cookies: no fingerprinting, nothing stored about the person visiting, just a daily tally per source. Your own visits do not count, and neither do bots.

A brand-new site sees a progress bar toward its first 25 visits rather than a breakdown, because a confident-looking chart built on eight visits invents patterns that are not there.

When someone taps your link inside an Instagram story or a text message, the browser hands over nothing about where they came from, so the credit evaporates into "Direct or saved". Your report now gives you three buttons — Copy link for Instagram, Copy link for email, Copy link for messages — and visits from the matching one land in the right column.

Nobody ever sees a tracking parameter: it is tidied out of the address bar the instant a visitor arrives.

Every upload failure used to look identical. You now get the actual reason and the actual fix:

• "That image is too large. Please choose one under 10 MB."
• "Your session has expired. Refresh the page, then add your image again."
• "The upload could not reach the server. Check your connection and try again."

That step had simply not worked since we rebuilt the image picker. If you signed up recently and could not get your photo to stick, it was not you.

Leaving a tab open for an hour and then adding an image would fail, with nothing useful on screen, until you reloaded. Uploads now stay valid for as long as your tab is.

Share a link to a specific workshop, retreat or training and it now writes its own preview — the event's title, description and photo, pointed at the event's own page rather than your homepage. Built from what you have already written.

Open the image picker on any section, switch to the Photos tab, and search a library of hundreds of thousands of free, high-quality images. Pick one and it drops straight into your page — no hunting, downloading and re-uploading.

Because the photo arrives the same way one from your own computer does, you can crop and adjust it before it lands. Photographers are credited automatically.

A discreet link now sits at the very bottom of every published site, so people who love your page can find out how it was made. It appears only on your public, published pages — never in the editor, and never on a private preview.

Only Classes had a clear "show this on my site" toggle. Services, Events and Testimonials each have one now, in the edit window where you would expect it, so nothing half-finished goes live before you are ready.

Unpublishing an event also takes its detail page offline, and turning the event back on does not bring that page back on its own — the editor now says so right at the switch.

Clicking into edit mode used to nudge everything sideways and resize your buttons, so what you typed on never quite matched what you shipped. What you see while editing is now exactly what publishes: the text stays put, the buttons keep their real size, and the panel grows to fit instead of clipping. A small "editing hero" cue makes it clear which mode you are in.

It had been there all along, rendered as white text on a white panel. Swapping your hero photo from your phone now works.

Published workshops, retreats, trainings and classes are now described to search engines in a way that can show a date and price directly in the results. Weekly classes are described as recurring rather than as a one-off date.

Dates and prices are read strictly on purpose: an ambiguous date like 09/10/2025, or a price like from £15, is left out rather than guessed at. Write 15 Jan 2026 and $45 and your event qualifies.

Every published site now offers search engines a proper list of its pages, instead of leaving them to stumble across each one.

Shared links used to show a blank description and a title ending in a stray "|". Your site now introduces itself from what you have already written: your site name, your description or bio or tagline, and your hero photo as the preview image. Nothing new to fill in, and we never invent a detail you did not write yourself.

Class and event card titles sat at the wrong heading level, which makes a page harder to navigate with a screen reader and muddier for a search engine to interpret. Corrected without changing how anything looks.

Your site goes live the moment you pick a name and a web address, which used to mean an empty site could be indexed as an empty site. It is now offered to search engines only once there is something real on it — a bio, or at least one published class, event or offering. Before that it stays reachable to anyone you send the link to.

There is no checklist to complete, and contact details are not required.

Every site was using the same generic description for that image. Identical descriptions across thousands of sites describe nothing — and this is the one image most worth describing properly.

Paragraphs and links in your bio now render properly on event pages instead of showing raw formatting.

It never had. The image was failing silently rather than loudly, which is why it went unnoticed for so long.

If you had completed your teacher profile, your event detail pages could fail to load entirely — for visitors and for you. Fixed, with a test to keep it fixed.

A site that went offline told search engines it was permanently gone, so it was removed and came back to nothing. An offline site now says "temporarily unavailable, check back" instead, and your place is held until you return.

The response is identical for every offline site, whether you unpublished it yourself or a payment did not go through — nobody looking from the outside can tell the difference.

The myMat blog and this changelog now live on the site itself rather than on separate services. You can subscribe to the blog by RSS, and everything here is written and published by us directly.

Marketing pages no longer fetch fonts from Google. The typefaces are served directly from myMat, which removes a third-party connection on first paint and stops text flashing while a font loads.

Between April and the end of July, sites looked normal in a browser but were handed a blank page when a search engine came to crawl them — no title, no text, nothing to index. Pages are now served fully formed to crawlers, and the part responsible restarts itself if it ever stops rather than quietly serving empty pages.
